If you happen to be awake throughout the night…step outside and check out this amazing phenomenon. Late tonight, into the early hours of tomorrow morning, people in North America will have the chance to witness a total lunar eclipse. This occurs when the Sun, Earth and Moon are precisely aligned and the Moon passes into the shadow of the Earth. The total eclipse begins at 2:41 am eastern time, partial eclipse will begin at 1:33 am. I don’t know about you…but, I’m setting my alarm.
We won’t have another opportunity like this until April of 2014. Clear skies tonight!
