Coming in at Number 5 on Radio.com’s Green Artist Countdown is The Legendary Roots Crew, a.k.a [lastfm]The Roots[/lastfm]. Growing in popularity by the day as the house band for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, [lastfm]The Roots[/lastfm] have been tearing up the hip-hop scene for 10 plus years. They’re also no strangers to the idea of giving back to the community, schools, and the environment.

Furthermore, guests were invited to the GMG lounge to screen print logos from GMG and the 2010 Roots Jam Logo Contest Winners onto shirts from recycled materials with the help of Studio3. Upon entrance, guest were given necklaces from Red Star made out of guitar picks, while performers received bracelets made of recycled guitar strings from WearYourMusic.org. Additionally, all CO2 emissions from the night were neutralized through the support of renewable energy.
